Maxx Nies is creating the kind of pop music that feels personal from the very first listen. The 25-year-old New York artist blends pop, electro pop and indie pop into songs that are emotional, relatable and honest. Now, Maxx is turning heads with her empowering new project, “Give Me A Reason.” Her music speaks openly about mental health, relationships, anxiety and self-worth, giving listeners a space where they can feel understood instead of alone.
Since committing to music in 2018, Maxx has continued building momentum with performances in Los Angeles and New York while working alongside producers in both cities. Her growing catalogue has already connected with listeners in a major way. “Thank You For That” earned a place on a Spotify curated playlist and has reached more than 190,000 streams. Fan favourites including “Daddy’s Issues”, “Bittersweet Heartbeat” and “Masochist” have also continued gaining attention, with several tracks receiving regular support from Amazing Radio. Her latest single, “Give Me a Reason”, has also landed on a curated Tidal playlist.
The track itself came from a deeply emotional moment. While dealing with anxiety and panic attacks connected to medication withdrawal, Maxx suddenly found herself writing late at night after a lyric popped into her head. Within minutes, the song was finished.
“Give Me A Reason” captures vulnerability in its rawest form, but underneath the emotion is strength. It is the kind of song that reminds listeners they are not the only ones fighting battles behind closed doors.
