Welcome to the-further! Tell us who you are and how you started to make music?
I’m an Italian beatmaker and producer who loves hip hop music and beyond. I had my first significant encounter with music when I was 5 years old. With a tiny keyboard, I learned to play by ear most of the songs I used to listen to. A few years later, I started taking some classical piano lessons, which lasted for almost 4 years. Shortly after, I met friends who introduced me to hip hop culture, turning myself into a passionate about the arts of DJing and Beatboxing. Over time, I had collaborations inside my crew and, in 2017, I released a collection of beats titled ‘Scanline’, followed by two subsequent instrumental albums. In June 2024, I released a non-instrumental album titled ‘Tune Park’, or rather a collaboration with 17 international artists, consisting of 11 tracks where I also created the top lines and chorus lyrics. It is receiving several positive feedbacks, which increasingly tend to enhance my gratitude towards all the artists who participated to this project.
What inspires you to create and write music?
Creating music is something that nourishes me emotionally, by enriching my own spiritual sphere. It’s a language through which I can express myself and an almost proper act towards those who are no longer by my side and who might be reached via appropriate channels. It’s the indelible mark I will leave on this earth. It’s a realignment. The magical task of a humble servant of harmony.
What is your creative process?
It’s very similar to other producers’ process, except for the fact that songs often come to me while I’m preparing lunch or dinner or when I do simple things. I usually start with the rhythm section and, then, add chords, arpeggiated lines, pads, basses, synths and so on. Most of the time, I create the patterns, by avoiding the presets use like pre-made chord progressions, drums and basslines. When I finish the music, I sing nonsense over it just to find the right vocal groove and some pleasant top lines. If I have enough time, I write the lyrics, usually for the sung parts, looking for rappers and singers whose style and voice perfectly fit the track. I create the rough mix, which I have refined by experienced sound engineers since I don’t have advanced tools and knowledge in professional mix and mastering. In every stage of this process, I prefer working on the artistic-compositional part rather than the technical one.
Can you describe your latest release?
‘Tune Park’ is a chameleonic and multicolored album with a common thread, or rather, the hip hop and rnb matrix that combines almost all the tracks. Each track draws from different genres, which is a bit of my distinctive feature, creating songs that usually are unique. Its development was a monumental task since it involved many artists, many of whom do not have a strictly hip hop background, ranging from soul to country, pop to gospel, to mention some. The album generally deals with positive themes like striving to improve individual living conditions, drawing strength from overcoming difficulties united to a sense of redemption and revenge against those who tend to demean and underestimate. Since the artists come from different countries, the multicultural contribution was significant. The album is recommended for lovers of hip hop music with an open attitude towards other influences and for those who love soulful verses. Just as a theme park offers the public many different attractions, ‘Tune Park’ provides listeners a vast and unpredictable sonic landscape. From the very beginning, my personal purpose was to excite, amaze, energize and make people dance. I hope I have succeeded in this.
What can we expect from you in the future?
I’m already back in the studio to create new tracks. I plan to release new singles in the fall and then publish a brand new album in 2025. My YouTube channel has grown a lot lately, by reaching 10k subscribers and it will continue to offer innovative content coming from collaborations with many talented artists. On my social media, I will publish the dates of live events to bring some energy to the people and have fun together.
