From Imola to San Francisco: 2heart2crash Explores Identity in 22”

Alessio Grancini, known professionally as 2heart2crash, releases his first full-length record, 22, an eight-track, 20-minute journey through post-punk, new-wave, and synth-pop. The Italian-born musician channels more than a decade of creative evolution into a record that wrestles with themes of self-awareness, technology, and human connection.

Growing up in Italy, Grancini was captivated by live music experiences that fused intensity, chaos, and communal energy. He carried this influence into his early career with the band Edge, whose single “Edge” gained attention online, before relocating to Los Angeles to explore music on a global scale. This transatlantic journey shaped both his sound and the conceptual depth of his work.

The creation of 22 coincided with a year in a San Francisco hacker house, where Grancini absorbed the rhythms and anxieties of tech culture. The album examines the intersection of digital life and human emotion, exploring how technology can both connect and isolate. “No one knows you better than your devices,” he reflects, a line that captures the tension woven throughout the record.

Musically, 22 offers a dark yet danceable soundscape. Tracks like Bad Guy and Plastic navigate the push and pull between desire, expectation, and personal growth, while the post-production work by Cole Daly enhances the sonic depth. Zeo Zhang’s visual direction extends the album’s aesthetic, ensuring that the project is as much a visual statement as a musical one.

Publicist Danielle Holian emphasizes the cultural resonance of the release, calling it a reflection of a generation shaped by digital immersion and underground music. 22 not only introduces 2heart2crash as an emerging talent but also signals his intent to explore the complex interplay between music, emotion, and technology in contemporary culture.
