Casiocenz Embraces Genre Fluidity on “kas-ee-oh-chenz”

Multi-instrumentalist and producer Casiocenz returns with a bold and expansive second full-length album, ‘Kas-ee-oh-chenz’, released in 2026. Featuring 11 tracks, the album seamlessly transitions between psych rock, post punk, indie, electronic, new wave, goth, and experimental soundscapes.

The album opens on a strong note with ‘Mind Grapes’, a psych rock track that has a level of grit and builds effortlessly. It is followed by ‘Mr.Tax Man’, a tongue-in-cheek classic rock track channeling the energy of bands such as The Who, while remaining punchy yet mellow. Showing its variety early on,‘Hot Stuff’embraces 80s hair metal influences, resulting in an upbeat track that serves as a playful homage to glam-era aesthetics and songwriting themes.

There are more experimental moments on ‘Transmission’, a psych interlude and a short transition piece that extends the final chord of ‘Mind Grapes’. It acts as a space-like continuation, resulting in a transcendent and ambient listening experience. ‘Luna_THE SNAKE OVERLORD’ also embraces experimentation, with a psych metal track feeling intense in parts while carrying a slightly haunting atmosphere. Adding further variety,‘The limit does not exist’  introduces electronic elements, bringing another dynamic to the album and versatility.

The influences of psych rock, post punk, new wave, and electronic music are incorporated in a way that feels more like an appreciation of those genres and artists rather than imitation to them. This approach allows Casiocenz’s creative identity to remain at the forefront, rather than losing sight of his core sonic sound.

Overall, Casiocenz proves on ‘Kas-ee-oh-chenz’ that genre experimentation can remain both cohesive and engaging. He has managed to create a project that feels intentional rather than disjointed, resulting in a compelling listening experience that takes the listener through a variety of musical moments and influences.
